MannHummel India to launch factory at Nalagarh in HP

MannHummel India, a 100 per cent affiliate of the German Group, is all set to launch a factory at Nalagarh in Himachal Pradesh to manufacture filter elements for automotive aftermarket with an investment of Rs 112 crore in the next two years, the Group's top official said.   

"The factory, which is the second one after Tumkur in Karnataka, will be launched by September with an employee strength of 100 and will have a production capacity of 10 million filters per year", Manfred Wolf, Group Managing Director told the press here today.   

"The factory is in partnership with our joint venture partner Bosch", he said unveiling "Mann-Filter" the aftermarket brand of the group here.   

"This factory will be responsible for the growth in the filter aftermarket (replacement) segment while Tumkur plant near Bangalore which has been operational for last three years and has been OE (Other Equipment) supplier to several automotive and industrial equipment manufacturers will be maintained as a production site", Wolf said.    

The group, which has invested over 10 million euros in India (since 2005), will be investing another over 10-15 million euros in the next 3-4 years, Hans-Georg Hummel, Managing Director, Mann+Hummel India, said.    

Mann+Hammel India with turnover of Rs 40 crore at present is looking at a target of Rs 250-300 crore by 2015, he said, launching an R&D centre with an investment of Rs 10 crore in the next two years, at Peenya here.
