Information technology player Mastek today reported a net profit drop of 54 per cent at Rs 15.3 crore for the quarter ending March 31, 2010 as compared to Rs 33.4 crore posted for the corresponding quarter a year ago.
Total income for the quarter stood at Rs 172.2 crore, a dip of 26 per cent as against Rs 233 crore posted in the same quarter a year ago.
Meanwhile, the company's independent director Rajesh Mashruwala has resigned with immediate effect following his affiliation with the Unique ID Authority of India (UIDAI).
At the UIDAI, Mashruwala will, among other things, be evaluating IT services and solutions vendors for the project and his concurrently serving on Mastek's board would does have posed a potential conflict on interest, stated a release from the company.
