Mawana Sugar posts Rs 34 cr loss in Q4

Mawana Sugar posted a loss of Rs 34.12 crore in the January-March quarter of FY 10. The company had reported a profit of Rs 14.05 crore in the October-December quarter of the financial year.

In a filing  to the stock exchanges, the company said, "The company manufactures sugar, which is a seasonal industry. As such, the performance in any quarter may not be representative of the annual performance of the company."
