Speaking to mediapersons here, Dhaliwal said with more operators rolling out 4G and consumers gradually becoming aware of what 4G brings to their fold, YU was foreseeing an uptick in its sales. He said 4G phones constitute 11 per cent of the total smartphone sales, which is expected to double by March 2016.
YU has partnered e-commerce player Snapdeal to sell Yunique via a flash sale scheduled on September 15.
Yunique is priced at Rs 4,999. “We want to be where (online) the consumer is,” Dhaliwal said, adding YU Televentures. would also build its own online brand store, going forward.
