In yet another attempt to strengthen its leadership team, mid-size information technology (IT) company Mindtree today announced appointment of Ramesh Pillai as its head of high-technology vertical, and Mark Wilsdon as the head of European sales.

“Pillai and Wilsdon will play a crucial role in the implementation of our strategy to expand globally by delivering expertise-driven solutions with a deep understanding of both technology and industry-specific business models,” Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Krishnakumar Natarajan said. “The additions of Pillai and Wilsdon will help accelerate our journey.”

Pillai joins Mindtree with an over 13-year experience at HCL Technologies, where he last served as vice president & global head of core manufacturing market segments (aerospace & defense, automotive and medical devices). Pillai will report to Natarajan.

“With 20 plus years of industry experience, Pillai is well known for his tenacious business development skills, building high-performance teams and strong customer relationships,” Mindtree said in a release. “In this capacity, Pillai will be responsible for continuing the strategy of delivering differentiated solutions for clients in the high-tech vertical.”

Wilsdon has joined Mindtree from Cognizant, where he was leading the sales and strategic engagements for UK and Ireland. He will report to Mindtree's Co-Founder and Head of Global Sales Scott Staples. Wilsdon has earlier held sales leadership positions for at Capgemini and Unisys.

The two new appointees will also be part of Mindtree's management council.

Mindtree, which is working to shed its 'mid-size' tag over the past few quarters, has been strengthening its top leadership team. The company is focusing on grooming the next generation of leaders, and bring experienced hands on board.

Last month, the company had appointed Paul Gottsegen as senior vice-president, chief marketing & strategy officer and management council member. Gottsegen had joined Mindtree from Infosys, where he was the vice president and chief marketing officer.
