Nagpur firm to construct Rs 2000 cr Lake City

Nagpur-based Jagdamba Realtors has decided to construct a 'Lake City' with 10,000 dwelling units on the outskirts of the city. The project has an outlay of Rs 2,000 crore.The project will come up near the proposed Sahara City.
 
The proposed 'Lake City' will be 20 km away from Nagpur and will be an independent township. It will be constructed around a lake and cover around 500 acre. Like other townships, it will offer facilities such as shopping complexes, supermarkets, a multiplex, schools and a hospital.
 
Chairman and managing director of Jagdamba Realtors Gopal L Kondawar said, "We have the necessary expertise and resources to undertake the project."
 
The projects the company has to its credit include Midas Heights, Nikalas Tower, Panchvati, and Platinum Plaza.
 
It will not only target the upper-class of the society but also offer dwelling units for the middle-class.
 
"Our prices will range from Rs 8 lakh to Rs 20 lakh per unit to attract customers from all strata of the society. There will be a few independent units too, but the prices are yet to be worked out. The independent units will be built according to specifications given by the buyers," said Kondawar.
 
The company, which has so far acquired around 430 acres, is planning to start the construction soon. "We will be in a position to offer possession letters after three years," he said.
 
The project will be eco-friendly as solar energy will be used for heating water and lighting.
 
"We will also provide 25 air-conditioned buses for conveyance within the Lake City. We will make sure that the township is well connected with Nagpur through these buses.The buses will be free for the residents of the Lake City for the first 10 years," added Kondawar.
