Nalco attributed the dip in net profit to lower market realization despite quantum jump in production.
In the period under review, Nalco posted impressive growth in output on all fronts. Its bauxite production saw a spike of 46%, rising from 1.16 million tonne (mt) to 1.7 mt. Alumina hydrate output, too was up 35% at 0.5 mt from 0.38 mt in the year-ago period.
The company produced 94,496 tonne of aluminium, 10% higher than 85,722 tonne in the comparable period of 2015-16. Total sale of alumina and aluminium stood at 0.29 mt and 82,386 tonne respectively.
