Hyderabad-based NeoSilica, a provider of technology solutions for smart cities and smart grids, is keen to expand its footprint in the renewable energy performance management solutions.

Satyam Bheemarasetti, CEO of Neosilica, says the company's Smart Energy SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) solution captures a solar plant's critical energy performance by utilising data analytics and updates it through a cloud-based software solution relaying it real time.

He explains that most of the solar plant managers were collecting the critical data relating to plant functioning, downtime issues and distribution failures through ways that are manual, emails, spreadsheets and other checks.

The Smart Energy solution would eliminate them and can even integrate the plant performance data from multiple locations through combining cloud technology, he says.

The solution is being deployed by the city-based Cirus Solar for setting up a 6-Mw solar plant in Nalgonda. Vishnuvardhan Reddy, CEO of Cirus, said the Neosilica's SCADA solution would help them reduce the plant's down time as it allows plant managers dispatch service teams immediately.

Neosilica had its success with public sector major BHEL. Speaking to Business Standard, BHEL Hyderabad unit deputy general manager GSD Gupta said they were able to save 226,000 units of power last year by switching to energy management solutions deployed by Neosilica under Smart Buildings.

Gupta said the smart solution allowed each floor of the office complex to manage power utilisation--like automatic power off during the employee intervals and controlling air conditioning across the rooms effectively.

"We recovered the entire investment in just one year and the company is now actively considering to deploy the same across its other offices pan-India," said Gupta.
