Neyveli Lignite net up 94%

Lignite mining and power generation major Neyveli Lignite's net sales was down 5 per cent to Rs 546.98 crore from Rs 575.81 crore.

Net profit was up 93.64 per cent to Rs 236.83 crore from Rs 122.3 crore year-on-year. Other income up is 155.85 per cent to Rs 229.11 crore from Rs 89.55 crore.

The net profit was up largely on account of higher other income following the withdrawal of contingency provision created on account of anticipated reduction in tariff relating to thermal power station-II.
