TVS Motor total sales drops 3.7%

TVS Motor Company posted a drop of 3.7% in total sales for the month of February, 2013, at 165,696 units as against 172,061 units registered in February, 2012.

Sales of two wheeler decreased by 4.8% at 160,895 units in February 2013 against 168,996 units recorded in February 2012. Domestic sales stood at 142,800 units in the month of February 2013 against 152,796 units of February 2012, marking a decrease of 6.5%.

Sales of motorcycle decreased by 3.23% at 60,985 units in February 2013 against 63,019 units reported during the same month of last year, while sales of scooter dropped by 16.5% at 30,611 units in February 2013 against 36,693 units during February 2012.

However, exports posted a growth of 22% during the month, to 21,896 units from 17,960 units in February 2012. Two wheeler experts reported 11.7% growth, from 16,200 units in February 2012 to 18,095 units in February, this year.

Three wheeler sales grew 56.64% from 3,065 units in February 2012 to 4,801 units in February 2013, announced the company.
