NIIT GIS appoints Agendra Kumar as President

Kumar has earlier worked as MD for SGI and Veritas India

IT services firm NIIT Technologies today said it has appointed Agendra Kumar as President of its joint venture subsidiary NIIT GIS Ltd.

In his last assignment, Kumar was the Managing Director of SGI in India. He has been associated twice with SGI (earlier known as Silicon Graphics Inc) with a prior stint as Director, Sales during 1994-2000, NIIT Technologies said in a BSE filing.

He also worked as Managing Director of Veritas India and upon its merger with Symantec Corporation took on global account management responsibilities for Asia Pacific and Japan region, it added.

Established in 1996, NIIT GIS is a joint venture between NIIT Technologies Ltd and Esri Inc, USA. Esri India is an end-to-end Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) solutions provider.

Esri India has delivered GIS solutions to more than 5,000 customers for applications in Land management, utilities, Infrastructure, Disaster Management, etc.
