Battery maker Nippo Batteries today reported a net profit of Rs 4.78 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, an over 28 per cent rise over the corresponding period a year ago.
The company had a net profit of Rs 3.72 crore during the June quarter last fiscal, Nippo Batteries said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Total income also rose to Rs 78.48 crore in the latest quarter of current financial year (2009-10) from Rs 70.01 crore of the same period a year earlier.
