Nissan appoints Kenichiro Yomura as new MD India

Former Hyundai rural sales operations joins as VP-Business managmenet

Japanese auto major Nissan today announced the appointment of Kenichiro Yomura as Managing Director of Nissan’s India operations.

He will report to Toru Hasegawa, Corporate Vice President for Africa, Middle East and India and will be based at Chennai.

Yomura will hold responsibility for Manufacturing, Research & Development and Joint Venture businesses.

This will accelerate strategic decision making and streamline operational efficiency to help achieve the company’s objective of securing 10% market share by 2016, according to company's release

It was further said he will be responsible for developing strategies to maximise Nissan’s business performance, managing product introduction and increase the presence and accessibility of the Nissan brand through continuing network expansion.

Yomura who carries over three decades in the automobile industry, till recently was as General Manager overseeing Nissan's operations in the Middle East region.

The Japanese auto major also announced appoint of Ajay Raghuvanshi as vice president—Business Management, responsible for supporting pricing, marketing, sales and operations.

Prior to this assignment, he was the national head for dealer development and rural sales operations for Hyundai and the Business Head for the entire Western Zone.

Raghuvanshi also worked with other auto majors including Honda, Tata Motors and Yamaha.
