The company had posted a net profit after taxes, minority interest and share of profit of associates of Rs 1,347.09 crore in the corresponding quarter of 2014-15, NMDC said in a BSE filing.
The net sales/income from operations (net of excise duty) during the January-March quarter stood at Rs 1,529.94 crore, registering a decline of 45.8%.

The total expenses during the quarter declined to Rs 1,054.88 crore, over Rs 1,435.28 crore in the corresponding quarter of preceding fiscal.
On the consolidated basis, the group posted a net profit after taxes, minority interest and share of profit of associates of Rs 2969.12 crore for the year ended March 31, 2016 as compared to Rs 6346.74 crore for the 2014-15 fiscal.
The shares of the company closed 1.20% up at Rs 92.50 apiece on BSE.
