R-Power net rises 16%

Company says its Sasan UMPP running at full capacity

Anil Ambani-controlled Reliance Power (R-Power) on Friday reported a 16 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 320 crore for quarter ended March. For the full year, net profit rose 32 per cent to Rs 1,362 crore.  

Its total income during January-March quarter was up 58 per cent at Rs 2,653 crore. Ebitda (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation) during the period stood at Rs 1,241 crore, up 71 per cent.

For 2015-16, total income was Rs 11,038 crore. Captive coal mines of Sasan UMPP (Ultra Mega Power Project) produced 17 million tonnes, highest among private companies.

Its 3,960 mw Sasan ultra mega power plant in Madhya Pradesh generated 31,261 million units operating at availability of 90 per cent capacity. RPower said the current capacity utilisation is 100 per cent.

Captive coal mines of Sasan UMPP produced 17.02 million tonne coal, highest among the private sector players in the country, the company said in a press statement.

The 1,200 mw Rosa Power Plant in Uttar Pradesh generated 7,060 million units operating at availability of 93% per cent while Butibori plant in Maharashtra generated 4,022 million units operating at availability of 97 per cent.

The company has 5,945 mw of operational power generation capacity.
