Nokia's workers at Tamil Nadu factory begin hunger strike

Workers at telecom giant Nokia's factory at Sriperumbudur, close to this city, began a hunger strike inside the premises on Monday, in the latest step of their agitation to protect their jobs. In early September last year, Nokia signed a global $7.2-billion deal with Microsoft to transfer to the latter its mobile cellphone business. This factory was included in the deal.
