Nokia-workers row: Meeting to resolve labour issue inconclusive

The tripartite meeting between the Nokia workers' union, company management and Tamil Nadu labour department concluded on Monday without making any headway. Following this, workers from the Nokia's Sriperumbudur factory have filed a written petition with the state labour department.

Monday's meeting, which lasted for about 45 minutes, at the Commissionerate of Labour, Chennai was attended by 12 people representing the workers, four people from Nokia management and joint commissioner, labour department - Chennai and assistant commissioner, labour department - Sriperumbudur.
