Ola has committed to an investment of $20 million in the next one year towards additional safety and security initiatives. The Ola app has an SOS button for its customers in its app, which when activated, will send out all ride details in real-time including GPS coordinates to a pre-set friend or family member of the user via SMS and e-mail.

In addition to the in-cab phone enabled GPS system already present in every cab, an additional layer of GPS has already been installed in most cabs across cities who have registered under Ola's platform, said the company adding that customers can also opt-in to always share ride details with their loved ones proactively, without having to do so every time they take a ride.
