Prashant Ruia is Essar Steel MD

 Mehra, the former head of the state-owned Rashtriya Ispat Nigam, headed Essar Steel for five years.

 Ruia, who has been on the board for over 14 years, has been involved in the operations and management of the steel company, and was instrumental in chalking out its growth and expansion strategies.
