Microsoft says that technology decision makers in Indian companies highly prefer public cloud services over the hybrid and private ones for their companies.

Technologists named IoT, data analytics and CRM (customer relationship management) among the most favored services to be hosted on public cloud in the country, it said citing a survey it commissioned.

The survey was conducted among Information Technology Decision Makers (ITDMs) and IT Professionals across major markets like India, US, UK, Japan and Brazil in partnership with market research firm Wakefield Research. It reveals that 57 per cent of the respondents from India have adopted public cloud solutions while 33 per cent stated that their companies use hybrid cloud (a combination public and private cloud) solutions. These are among the highest rate of adoptions and are better than markets such as the US, the UK and Japan.

The survey went on to find that about 64 per cent of the Indian respondents were comfortable in hosting their company's most essential applications or services on the public cloud. A similar percentage of respondents predict that public cloud solutions are very important to connect seamlessly to the organisation's existing data centers five years from now.
