| Total sales of the company also increased 38.92 per cent at Rs 1,712.22 crore for the quarter under review against Rs 1,232.45 crore for the same quarter of 2005-06. Earnings per share of the company rose to Rs 5.73 from Rs 4.83 in the September quarter. |
| According to Chairman Rajesh Mehta, the growth in revenues has been primarily owing to rise in exports. He said the company's R&D division had developed a special festival collection range of jewellery, and it got a very warm response from the international and domestic markets. |
| The R&D division had also developed 3,000 exclusive designs for the retail arm of the company, and the order book position, as on date, was Rs 1,135 crore, Mehta added. |
