The electronic identification is a bar-coded micro chip, which would be installed in an earring, to be worn by animals.
"We will provide electronic identification to bovines which will have details like birth, vaccination, other medical history and milk production related details. Any details regarding cattle can be known from this bar-coded micro chip," said A C Sinha, managing director, Rajkot Dairy.
Rajkot Dairy earlier provided health details under tagging scheme of Gujarat government since 2006. This is for the first time that all details related to cattle willbe available in one chip.
