Rallis India Q2 net rises over 5%

The company's net sales increased by 11% to Rs 480 cr

Agrochemicals company Rallis India today reported a 5.19% jump in its consolidated net profit at Rs 61.56 crore for the quarter ended September 30 on account of a marginal increase in sales.

The company had a made a profit of Rs 58.52 crore in the same period last year, the company said in a statement.

The company's net sales increased by 11% to Rs 480.62 crore in the second quarter of the current fiscal as compared with Rs 432.12 crore in the same period last year.

During the first half of 2012-13 fiscal, the company's consolidated net profit rose marginally to Rs 85.73 crore as compared to Rs 81.64 crore in the year-ago period.

Net sales increased by 14% to Rs 821.63 crore from Rs 723.71 crore in the review period, the company said.

"Our new products in the plant growth promoter segment did well and our key brands recorded good growth," Rallis India CEO and Managing Director V Shankar said.

The share of the company traded lower and closed at Rs 141.55 on the BSE today.
