Anil Ambani led Reliance Animation today said it plans to set up animation academies 'Big Aims' across the country and will open five such educational centres in the national capital and one in Noida in the first phase within the next fortnight.
"We plan to open 'Big Aims' in all the major cities across the country in the next one year and in its first phase, six centres are being opened in the Delhi and NCR," Ashish S K, CEO of Reliance Animation, makers of the popular cartoon series 'Little Krishna', told PTI Bhasha.
The company will also launch one centre each in Jaipur, Indore, Kolkata in the first phase, he said.
In the second phase, while one centre each will be set up in Chandigarh, Lucknow, Ahmedabad and Bhopal, three will be opened in Chennai. Second phase will be completed by June, he added.
"We are aiming to open 50 (Big Aims) schools by 2013, out of which 10 schools will be in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines," he said, adding, most of them are proposed to be through franchisees.
Speaking about the animation course to be offered in the academy, Academic Director Sathish Narayanan said: "The curriculum for Big Aims will be such that after finishing the course, people will be totally ready to work in the sector".
The fee for the 18-month course will be Rs 2,10,000 and the company has tied up with HDFC Ltd's Credila for providing finance for it, he added.
