Reliance Retail launches second ultra-premium smartphone LYF Earth 2

Phone has voice-enabled smart camera, 178-degree viewing angle, face and fingerprint recognition, smart sensors allowing phone to identify 19 gestures

Reliance Retail, a subsidiary company of Reliance Industries Ltd., on Monday launched its second ultra-premium device LYF Earth 2, which targets millennials.

LYF range of smartphones categorize devices into four segments. While LYF Flame and LYF Wind cater to entry level segment with prices range below Rs 10,000, LYF Water and LYF Earth are targeted at mid to premium and ultra-premium segments respectively.

"LYF Smartphone+ is a consumer obsessed brand and through Earth 2 we present the most advanced features in smartphones that deliver a differentiated digital experience to our consumers and puts the controls of smart devices in the hands of the consumers," said Sunil Dutt, President-Devices, Reliance Retail.

The new smartphone entails some of the high-end features including voice-enabled smart camera, smart screen with 178 degree viewing angle that enables users to see clearly at any angle, facial recognition and fingerprint sensors as well as smart sensors, which allow the phone to recognize as many as 19 gestures.

The company is looking to promote its new product aggressively, with newly launched television commercial featuring Indian actress Priyanka Chopra.
