Religare to install rapid test equipment

Leading pathology chain Religare Super Laboratories (formerly SRL Ranbaxy) is working with global diagnostic instrument majors like Roche Diagnostics, Siemens and Abbott Diagnostics to develop rapid test equipment that can perform 10 common medical tests.

The equipment is proposed to be installed in over 100 Religare Wellness stores across the country. Religare Wellness, earlier known as Fortis Healthworld, is the healthcare retail store chain company of the Religare promoters — the Singh family of Ranbaxy Laboratories.

“We should be installing the first rapid test equipment in Delhi soon. Whether it is on haemoglobin test or a lipid profile, you can walk in to any of our stores, carry out the tests and get the results instantly. Some of the large collection centres among the 900 centres we have will also provide such rapid tests,” Sanjeev K Chaudhry, chief executive officer, Religare Labs and Religare Wellness said.
