Having forayed with automotive comfort enhancer products in Gujarat, Mathura-based Remi Overseas is now setting up a solar lighting product manufacturing plant in the state. To come up near Ahmedabad, the plant will annually produce 10,000 units of solar street and residence lighting products from the upcoming plant.
"We are investing around Rs 20 crore for the solar lighting product manufacturing plant. We expect the same to commission within this financial year," said GD Sharma, managing director of Remi Overseas. The company recently forayed in the state of Gujarat by setting up distribution channel for its automotive comfort enhancers like car massager, neck massager, massage cushion, seat cushion and car washer.
The Mathura headquartered company has a global presence across China, Singapore and Hong Kong, apart from India.
However, according to Upendra Sharma, chairman of Remi Overseas, the company is already eyeing a 60 per cent contribution for its automotive products from Gujarat.
"Of the Rs 20 crore turnover, we expect Gujarat to contribute about 60 per cent since there is a huge scope of business in the state for automotive comfort enhancers here. We are also taking up our distribution network in Gujarat from current 40 to 100 by the end of this fiscal," Upendra Sharma added.
For its solar lighting products, GD Sharma said the company is looking to tap both domestic and overseas markets through its Gujarat plant. "We will be focusing on both enterprise as well as residential solar lighting products as the demand is set to grow in coming years," said Sharma.
