French car maker Renault has seen about 25,000 bookings for its hatchback Kwid in just two weeks of the launch. The SUV inspired Kwid has been priced aggressively at Rs 2.57 lakh to compete against Maruti Suzuki's Swift, Alto and Hyundai's Eon and i10.

The top end variant will come at Rs 3.53 lakh (ex showroom, Delhi). The company will start delivering the vehicle from mid October. The entry level price of Rs 2.57 lakh is comparable to the base model of Maruti Alto 800 and cheaper to Hyundai's Eon (Rs 3.1 lakh).

"We did the launch very recently. Cars have not yet reached a number of showrooms and customers are yet to see and get a feel of the car. Considering this, the number is very encouraging. We are gearing up to meet demand", said Sumit Sawhney, country CEO and MD at Renault India.
