He was speaking here today at the launch of its all-diesel multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) Lodgy. Treguer did not give any time frame for the launch of its small car.
The French automotive major is confident the launch of small car would help boost its domestic market share more than two-fold to five per cent by the end of next fiscal. Its current market share in the country's four-wheeler sales stands at around two per cent. Renault said the new small car was built on an altogether new platform, being co-developed with its partner Nissan. It is learnt the global launch would focus on developing markets like India, Brazil and South Africa.
Priced in the range of Rs 8.31-11.95 lakh (ex-showroom local), Lodgy, which offers a mix of a sedan and an MPV, has been witnessing a double-digit growth in the last two-three years in the domestic market, according to the company.
