Imaging solutions and IT services provider Ricoh India Ltd is planning to set up a data centre and business zones in India with an investment of around Rs 300 crore in the next two years. The company, which has been growing at around 50 per cent in the past few years, continues to evaluate possibilities of setting up more manufacturing facilities in the country, said Manoj Kumar, managing director and chief executive officer of Ricoh India Ltd.

The company, which currently has one data centre each in Kolkata and Delhi, is looking at its capacity in the Kolkata data centre and setting up a new data centre in Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat, as part of the plans. It would also set up a few business zones in the country, under the Rs 300 crore expansion plan, he said.

The funds would be from internal accruals, borrowings and from the parent company. Ricoh India is a subsidiary of Japan-based global technology company Ricoh, which is specialising in office imaging equipment, production print solutions, document management systems and IT services. The Ricoh Group had worldwide sales of $18.5 billion by the end of March 2015.

He said that the company has been growing at around 50 per cent in the recent past and has reached a turnover of Rs 1637 crore with a 55 per cent growth in 2014-15. Growth is expected to continue at the range of around 50 per cent in the near future, he added.

The company, which has last year said that it is evaluating possibilities of setting up its own manufacturing facilities in India, is still evaluating the plans. While the global headquarters is evaluating the financial aspects of the plans, the local office is evaluating the operational aspects, added Kumar.

He was in Chennai to announce that it is now a Siemens Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software reseller, in the country.
