RK University, Microsoft tie up for Ed-vantage program

Under the tie up, Microsoft will help R K University students to find job in IT sector

Rajkot based R K University and Microsoft Corporation India Pvt Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of Microsoft Corporation, US, have joined hands for the Ed-vantage program. Under this tie up, Microsoft will help the R K University students to find job in information technology sector. Moreover, the company will also support the students to start their own business in future.

"We have started Ed-vantage program since last six months to provide platform that enables students realise their true potential. R K University is sixth in India and first in Gujarat with whom we have joined hand. Under this program, we will help the students to grow with Industry Connections - a Microsoft facilitated access to a web portal where eligible students may apply for available positions posted by potential employers", said Raj Kataira, Director for geo expansion in Microsoft Corporation India.

Microsoft will also guide and give training to the faculties of RK University and update them on the latest Microsoft technologies. Kataria said, "We have already tied up with 27 educational institutions in South India under Ed-vantage program and we are also looking forward for more collaboration in Gujarat also."

Microsoft is going to organise coding marathon 'Yappon-Appfest' which involves application development on latest technologies such as Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, Windows Azure and others.

Kataria said, "Students can put their developed applications on our website and we will help them to get business. Moreover, we will find prospective students who have skill in IT and support them to set up their own business."

Denish Patel, executive vice president of R K University said, "IT development in Saurashtra is moving very fast. So many students are coming in this field so we have decided to give a strong platform to our students which help them develop their skill and provide job opportunities."
