Axis Bank-country's third largest private sector bank has appointed Sanjeev Kumar Gupta as the new Executive Director of the bank.
He will take charge from September 1st 2014.
Currently, Gupta is the President & CFO of the bank.
In his new role Gupta will be involved in the bank's overall strategy and will also be responsible for the key corporate functions, the bank said in a statement.
He will be replacing Somnath Sengupta, the Executive Director- Corporate Centre who has taken an early retirement from the post on account of personal reasons. Sengupta was due to retire early next year.
