Expressing displeasure over the repeated adjournments sought by defence counsels into the CBI’s petition for conducting forensic tests on Satyam's former Chairman B Ramalinga Raju and other accused, a city court today fixed to July 4, for hearing the final arguments in the matter.
After the matter came up for hearing before the XIV Additional Chief Metropolitan magistrate, the judge K Sudhakar instructed the prosecution and defence to have a final argument on July 4.
The CBI’s petition seeking court’s permission to conduct forensic tests on the Raju brothers and Vadlamani Srinivas was pending since March 24 in the court.
The defence counsel, K Ravinder Reddy, requested the Judge to adjourn the matter, saying senior counsels from Andhra Pradesh High Court were to represent the Satyam accused Ramalinga Raju, his brother Rama Raju and Satyam’s ex-CFO Vadlamani Srinivas in the case.
The senior counsels were unavailable to argue on behalf of their clients during working days, Reddy said and sought for adjourning the case for hearing on Saturday.
