A redesigned Skoda Superb (sedan) will be launched in the middle of the first quarter, while Skoda Yeti (compact SUV) will arrive in the second half of 2014.
"India is an important market for us. We are quite optimistic about the growth this year. We have record sales in January, about 10 per cent growth...India has been, is and will be the most important market in the world for the company," Skoda Board Member for Sales and Marketing Werner Eichhorn said here at the 12th Auto Expo.
The company, however, declined to disclose the price of the two redesigned models.
"With the success of the recently launched Octavia, Skoda will continue to position the brand in the value luxury space," he added.
On redesigning, Skoda Auto India Managing Director Sudhir Rao said: "We do redesigning on a a regular basis to get customers attraction.... The redesigned Superb and Yeti will further strengthen our customers with great products. There will be an increased thrust in the after sales domain with an aim to build a loyal customer base ".
The Superb was launched on the sub-continent in 2004 and the Yeti in 2010. By 2013 end, the company delivered 15,593 Superbs and 4,576 Yetis to customers in India.
Both the models are produced at its plant in Aurangabad.
The company has about 90 dealers in the country and it has no plans to increase the network as it is focusing on further improving the existing network, Rao added.
"2014 is a very very important year for us," he said. Skoda has been present in the Indian market since 2001.
