Social video platform Indi.com enters India

Backed by actor-producer Anil Kapoor, platform aims to democratise talent discovery and boost social media engagement for brands

More than three years after it launched in the US, social video platform is all set to foray into Indian markets this April. The platform, backed by actor-producer Anil Kapoor, aims to democratise talent discovery and boost social media engagement for brands. India, owing to a growing talent pool of youngsters, increasing smartphone penetration and improvement in internet connectivity, shall witness the first ever dedicated platform.

Neel Grover, global CEO, Indi.com, said, "We are very excited to be releasing the dedicated site for India, our first such endeavor in the international market, outside of USA. Having Anil on-board further strengthens our confidence in the platform and in the Indian markets. We are affirmative that Indi will be really popular amongst Indian market, becoming the go-to social video platform."

Initially starting as an online artist consortium, Indi.com has is being accessed by people from over 200 countries, the platform works as an extensive resource for brands to drive more meaningful and deep-rooted social media engagement. They can initiate challenges which the user will participate in by creating original content and self-promoting the same across multiple social media platforms.

On his association with Indi.com, Kapoor said, "I got on-board the moment I heard about the concept of Indi.com and what they plan to do in Indian market. As an artist myself, I further believe in the vision of Indi to democratise talent discovery in India. Given how digitally aware and tech-savvy today's youth is, it will be interesting to see how well Indi performs in Indian markets."

The dedicated platform shall provide a opportunity to the talent pool of Indian artists and performers to exhibit their talents online and for the brands to reach hither to unexplored levels of social media engagement across multiple platforms.
