SpiceJet bags India's International Low Cost Carrier award

Last month, the airline was voted amongst the Top 5 Best Budget Airline in Asia by Smart Travel Asia

SpiceJet has bagged the prestigious India’s International Low Cost Carrier of the Year 2012 Award from The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI).

Earlier last month, the airline was voted amongst the Top 5 Best Budget Airline in Asia by Smart Travel Asia. SpiceJet was ranked at fourth position among Asian airlines by Smart Travel Asia.

“The award reaffirms our goal to provide affordable air services to our esteemed guests. It is a matter of great pleasure to receive the award. We have been expanding our footprints to more international destinations in recent time and will be adding some more cities in coming period,” said Neil Mills, Chief Executive Officer, SpiceJet Ltd.

At present, SpiceJet operates flights to four international destinations namely Dubai, Colombo, Kabul and Kathmandu. Recently, the airline became the first commercial carrier to operate international services from Madurai Airport (in Tamil Nadu). SpiceJet launched flights between Madurai and Colombo.
