SuperProfs, an online test preparation platform, has launched a mobile app for UPSC aspirants. The app was launched on Friday and close to 1,00,000 students have registered for the course within a few months of the course's launch, the company said in a statement.

More than 9,00,000 civil service aspirants sit for the examination every year. These exams are amongst the toughest to clear, given the large base of applicants. Last year, UPSC saw a 30 per cent increase in the number of students appearing for the exams, amounting to 4,65,000 aspirants, compared with 3,24,000 candidates in 2013.

The idea of SuperProfs was to bridge the gap between aspiring students and good teachers. It provides comprehensive coaching packages that include daily news updates, test series, discussions and so on at a cost that is less than 30 per cent of what students would have to pay for equivalent face to face classes.

Piyush Agrawal, chief executive officer and founder, said: “Well-formulated strategy with optimum time management is the key to achieving one’s dream. We at SuperProfs strive to make UPSC exam preparations simple, enjoyable, independent, active and productive.”

Nagendra Pratap, who heads the UPSC segment at SuperProfs said: “One can be confident of getting a rank in UPSC as long as they are passionate, dedicated and hard working. So far we have received good number of registrations from Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and we are hopeful of more number of aspirants joining us from across the nation. Our main focus is student success and we are taking every possible measure to enable them to prepare well for UPSC exams.”

Pavel Das a UPSC aspirant hailing from Tripura on SuperProfs said: “I subscribed to coaching classes on superprofs.com because they allow downloading course videos in their Android App and also mentors provide answers to all our queries & they provide compilations of daily news analysis in their Facebook group. Excellent teaching methodologies and tactics for effective studying have been reflected in the lectures which I have gone through till date.”
