Suzlon group's US-based subsidiary SWECO (Suzlon Wind Energy Corp) has signed an agreement with PowerWorks for supplying up to 98.7 MW of wind turbines, the company said in a statement.
However, financial details of the contracts were not disclosed.

The group will supply up to 29 units of the 2.1 MW wind turbines and 17 units of the 2.1 MW wind turbines for projects in Illinois and California in Panther Creek wind project.
Rick Koebbe, President of PowerWorks, said "PowerWorks is excited to join Suzlon in bringing two new wind projects to the market. These projects demonstrate PowerWorks commitment to competitive wind energy and to the continued build-out of our development pipeline."
PowerWorks will start taking delivery of wind turbines in the summer 2015, the statement added.
Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation CEO Duncan Koerbel said, "The S111 blade profile has an optimum pressure coefficient distribution which is ideal for lower wind sites, in a variety of climates, including those at higher altitudes."
Suzlon Energy Chairman Tulsi Tanti said, "We have a strong focus on the US market as it offers a favourable renewable energy environment and federal policy framework moving in the right direction. We look forward in welcoming PowerWorks to the Suzlon Group."
Shares of Suzlon Energy were trading at Rs 14.16 apiece on the BSE, up 0.21% from the previous close.
