Tanishq, the jewellery brand from the stable of Titan Industries, aims to expand its footprint in eastern India, comprising Odisha, West Bengal, northeastern states and Jharkhand with opening of more number of outlets.

The eastern region accounts for only 15 per cent of Tanishq's total business in the country at present. "We want to expand our footprint in the eastern region including Odisha," said V Ganesh, associate vice-president, Titan Company Limited. Tanishq opened its fifth showroom in the state and 24 in the eastern region at Berhampur in south Odisha on Wednesday. India's largest jewellery brand currently has four outlets in Odisha-two in Bhubaneswar, one each at Cuttack and Rourkela. "We plan to open showrooms at Sambalpur, Baleswar and Jharsuguda in the coming days," added regional manager of the company, Dwaipayan Sen.

Tanishq has 153 exclusive boutiques in 86 cities across the country, making it India's first and largest jewellery retail showroom chain, the company officials said. Despite fluctuations in gold prices, the craze for gold jewellery among the Indian people has not dampened. People buy gold ornaments to gift them to their dear ones during marriages and other social events. Keeping in view this sentiments of the people, Tanishq is offering variety of exclusively designed jewelleries, including the light-weight ornaments, said Ganesh. "All the products of the Tanishq are of guaranteed product quality," he claimed. The company has also launched two savings and investment schemes-Golden Harvest and Swarnanidhi-Gold Banking Scheme. The schemes help the customers save an amount each month and plan their purchase of jewellery with an extra benefit at the end.

The new showroom at Berhampur is one of the biggest in the city and is spread over an area of 3,000 sq.ft. The franchise holder Ashok Lohiya said, the company had announced special discount on diamond and gold jewellery making charge for the next five days.
