Thermax Q4 net loss at Rs 15.6 cr

Engineering firm Thermax today said it has reported a net loss of Rs 15.6 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2010.

The company had a net profit of Rs 94 crore for the same quarter ended March 2009, Thermax said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

Total income rose to Rs 1,237 crore for the January-March quarter of 2010 from Rs 960 crore in the same period last year.

The company has proposed a dividend of Rs 5 per share or 250 per cent on the face value of Rs 2 each to the shareholders, the filing added.

As on March 31, 2010, the company had a record order book of Rs 5,381 crore against Rs 2,897 crore achieved last year, the filing further said.

For the year ended March 31, 2010, the company has posted a net profit of Rs 141.4 crore, down 50.76 per cent over the same year-ago period.

Shares of Thermax today closed at Rs 665.60 on the BSE, down 2.15 per cent from previous close.
