David Turner, CFO (markets division) of Thomson Reuters, told reporters here on Thursday that Bangalore represents the third biggest operational base of the company across the world and it holds tremendous potential for expansion.
"The Indian economy is booming and it is the right place for us to move in. The merger of Thomson and Reuters has not resulted in any layoffs in Bangalore, we are actually keen on investing on resources here," Turner said.
He, however, refused to divulge the specifics of the expansion plan. The company plans to redeploy the existing staff to cater to the demands of the Indian economy.
Sandhya Vasudevan, managing director (market division) of Thomson Reuters' India operations said: "India is a critical market for us. We will be providing information to both the professional and financial markets."
