Toyota likely to hike Bidadi plant capacity

| Toyota Kirloskar's zonal sales head for West Atul Sood said the company was targeting to sell 1,000 units of limited edition Innova during January to March after which the vehicle would be taken off the market. The vehicle would be priced at Rs 9.15 lakh in Pune. |
| Sood said the company had so far sold about 68,000 units of Innova in India since its launch in the country in September 2005. |
| "Innova has become the fastest selling vehicle in its segment with a market share of over 31 per cent," he said. |
| The limited edition "" available in eight-seater G1diesel variant "" comes with a 2.5 litre D-4D diesel engine and is available in two shades "" Warm Silver and Simpson Red. |
| Following the impressive success of Innova, the company is in the process of expanding its dealership network, especially in the West where it is planning to add eight dealerships to the existing 14. Sood said Kolhapur, Ahmedabad and Surat would be the prominent locations for new dealerships. |
| He said the company's production capacity of 60,000 vehicles per year at its factory at Bidadi in Karnataka was likely to be expanded in view of the new vehicles the company might introduce in the near future. |
| He did not give details but said "feasibility studies and assessment of customer aspirations are in process and a decision will be made at the top level in due course." |
| Toyota Kirloskar has 430 acres of land at Bidadi, only a third of which is being utilised at present. |
