Country's third largest two-wheeler company TVS Motor has reported a 10 per cent increase in the total sales during the month of August 2009 at 126,842 units as compared to 114,321 units.
Domestic sales of the company rose by around 20 per cent to 115,095 units in August 2009 as against 96,238 units in the corresponding month of the previous year.
Scooters sales rose to 28,582 units in August 2009 from 25,392 units in August 2008, an increase of 12 per cent over the previous year. Total motorcycle sales of the company stood at 51,127 units in August 2009 when compared to 52,304 units in August 2008, a drop two per cent.
Exports continued to be affected with sales of 11,747 units of two wheelers in August 2009 as against 18,083 units in August 2008, a drop of 35 per cent.
