Hyderabad-based Tyche Peripheral Systems Limited, a player in the retail automation industry, has announced a tie-up with NCR Corporation, a $6-billion global technology company.
 
Through this tie-up, NCR has announced the launch of its retail automation offerings, including point-of-sale (POS) solutions and kiosks for the Indian market.
 
According to the agreement, Tyche will be responsible for sales and support of NCR's retail solutions in India. NCR has a management centre in Mumbai that will provide remote support services to the customers.
 
Addressing the media, Shrihari Bhat, general manager (retail solutions "� South East Asia), NCR Corporation India Private Limited, said, "Tyche's existing presence gives us a strong reach in the country."
 
He added that the POS market was estimated to grow at the rate of 30-40 per cent, thus making it the right time for them to launch their retail automation offerings in India.
 
"This agreement benefits Tyche as it enables us to bring international products into the Indian market," Pradeep Chauhan, managing director, Tyche Peripheral Systems Limited, said. The Rs 35-crore company is eyeing a turnover of Rs 50-crore in 2006-07.
