UTV Broadcasting has signed up an exclusive deal with Warner Bros. that will give it access to 110 titles.
For two years UTV Action and UTV Telugu will have access to 60 titles and 50 titles a year respectively. This means that UTV will get access to titles like The Lord of the Rings, The Dark Knight, Shoot Them Up, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Golden Compass, and many more in local langugaes.
“UTV Action and Action Telugu are known to bring the best of Hollywood Action to the viewers. Taking forward this proposition we are proud to be associated with one of Hollywood’s biggest studios Warner Bros,” said Manasi Sapre, Programming Head, UTV Action and UTV Action Telugu.
UTV Action was launched in January 2010. Last year, the channel had entered into a three-year movie deal with Sony Pictures Television (SPT) for the exclusive Hindi language telecast rights of 70 action films of SPT.
UTV Action Telugu, which was launched in June 2011, has a library of around 250 titles.
