Auto maker VE Commercial Vehicles today said it has recorded 25.3% jump in total sales for December at 5,051 units.
The joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors had sold 4,030 units in the same month last year, VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) said in a statement.
Domestic sales in December increased to 4,512 units from 3,426 units in the year-ago period, a jump of 31.6%, the company added.
Exports for the month, however, fell by 10.7% to 539 units from 604 units in December 2010.
VECV's sales of light commercial vehicles in the Indian market went up by 18.1% to 3,197 units during the month from 2,706 units in December 2010.
Heavy commercial vehicle sales recorded an 80.2% increase at 939 units from 521 units in December 2010, it added.
