Videocon net profit up 8% in Q2

The company registered a net profit of Rs 251 crore for the quarter under review, up 8 per cent, compared with Rs 231.43 crore for the previous corresponding quarter.

During the period, Videocon's consumer electronics business grew by 13 per cent to Rs 2,061 crore (Rs 1,824 crore).

Its crude oil operations registered sales of Rs 452.99 crore in the quarter as against Rs 328.30 crore a year ago.

It recorded 14.42 per cent jump in net profit during the first half ended March 2008, at Rs 4,877 crore (Rs 4,211 crore). Net sales for the period touched Rs 4.877 crore (Rs 4,211 crore).
