Vijay Rekhi, former President and Managing Director of United Spirits Limited, has joined with Tilaknagar Industries as chairman of the Board of Advisors.
He was associated with the UB Group for over 40 years including its overseas operations and has experience in the manufacturing, marketing and general management, particularly in the liquor industry. Rekhi is also a director in a few leading global companies and holds honorary positions in various trade associations.
Tilaknagar manufactures, markets and sells over 40 brands across price points and had in 2012-13 recorded sales of 13.8 million cases - a four per cent increase from the previous year. Tilaknagar Industries manufactures Mansion House, the world's one of the best-selling brandy labels.
"The objective of the Advisory Council is to extend strategic and operational advice for further accelerating the huge growth impetus for the Company", said Amit Dahanukar, Chairman & Managing Director, TI. Rekhi holds Master's degree in Economics from Delhi School of Economics and MBA from IIM Ahmedabad.
TI has also announced the appointment of Ratneshwar Prasad as a Member of its Board of Advisors. Prasad enjoys 43 years of experience in taxation, law, competition and international taxation.
After graduating from IIT, Kanpur, he had joined Indian Revenue Service - Income Tax in the year 1970 and worked as Commissioner, Chief Commissioner and eventually the Chairman of Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).
