Leading telecom player Vodafone is banking on its SuperNet network to deepen presence and grab a bigger share of the mobile subscriber base in Odisha.

With a subscriber base of 4.2 million, Vodafone has a market share of 16% in the state and penetration access to 74% of the population.

Naveen Chopra, chief operating officer, Vodafone India, said, "We have made strategic investments to build a highly modern, scalable and future fit network. Vodafone SuperNet will enhance the mobile internet experience for customers with faster download/upload of videos and music and greater ease in using their favourite apps."

Vodafone has over 67 million data subscribers across the country with its data traffic recording year-on-year growth of 69%. Mobile data is presently contributing 20.3% to its service revenue.

"We have around 200 million mobile subscribers and two million of them are using 4G services. Our 4G services are available in nine states", Chopra said.

For Vodafone, Odisha is a fast growing and evolving market. It has a sizeable retail footprint with 215 Vodafone branded stores.

"We have already invested Rs 2000 crore in Odisha. As a committed telecom service provider, we have a lot to look forward to enhancing customer experience. Beginning with Bhubaneswar, we will soon expand our SuperNet services across the entire state in a phased manner", said Deepak Saluja, business head (Odisha), Vodafone India.

As an inaugural offer, Vodafone customers can enjoy 500 MB free data. The trial pack is valid for two days.
