Vodafone, Flipkart offer 4G smartphones for as low as Rs 999: Details here

Vodafone India has partnered with India’s leading e-commerce platform Flipkart to offer entry level smartphones at an effective price starting at Rs 999. The scheme is valid for existing and new Vodafone prepaid subscribers only and is valid until March 31, 2018.

To avail this special price, customers have to do a recharge of at least Rs 150 per month for 36 months (the recharges can be of any denomination totaling to a minimum of Rs 150 per month). At the end of 18 months, customers would receive a cashback of Rs 900 and after another 18 months, a cashback of Rs. 1,100/- respectively, thus availing a total cashback of Rs 2000. The cash back would be credited to customer’s Vodafone M-Pesa wallets.

The scheme is currently live on Flipkart and the e-commerce platform is offering the Vodafone cashback on host of smartphone from various brands including Micromax, iVoomi, Yu mobiles, Xolo, Intex, Alcatel, Swipe etc.

The tie-up with Flipkart is another take by Vodafone to take on Reliance Jio and retain the customer base. Not just Vodafone, other incumbent operators are also forging partnerships with handset makers so as to make smartphones affordable and within reach of a large section of society.

India’s leading telecommunication operator Bharti Airtel is also offering similar deals in partnership with smartphone manufacturers. However, the deals are not yet available through e-commerce platform.
